To install the FAO database: "fishstat Plus" (version 2.3 of 6.1 MB), go to: www.fao.org/fi/statist/fisoft/fishplus.asp
Click on: How to Download and Install the Software, follow the directions in the wizard.
When using WinZip, select Open program instead of Save program. If you do not have the WinZip program, click here and download evaluation version: http://www.winzip.com/
After you have installed the software using WinZip, go back to the FAO website above and click on: How to Download and Install the Datasets.
When you click on the Download button for the datasets, the WinZip program will have a button saying: Select Different Folder. Click that and follow below.
Go to: Program Files on your local disk (usually C or D, click the + sign).
Click on the + sign of Program Files
Find FISHSTAT and click on the + sign of FISHSTAT
Click on the DB folder and then click OK
If the DB folder opens up, just close it.
Then go to your Start Menu, click on Programs, click on FishStat Plus. Once this opens, it will ask you if you want to install the datasets, click yes.
If the ReadMe file comes up first, close it and then it will ask you if you want to install the dataset, click yes.
If you have more than one dataset that you have downloaded, go to File, Open and select the dataset that you would like to view.
You will need to go back to the FAO database website above to download each dataset.
